The True Meaning of Love

Love once was a big word back in the day. Love meant full commitment. Love meant the person would never leave you. If your significant other told you they loved you, it meant nothing would ever break either of you apart. The deceivers realized how much the word meant, and therefore started to use it as an advantage. The word love obtained a whole new meaning: It meant total control of the situation. It became the bait on the rod the deceivers used. More time passed, and the new generation read and saw the word love in new books like Twilight, and old stories like Romeo and Juliet. Teenagers realized that they too could throw this word around. So now, present day, the word love could either mean everything, or absolutely nothing.

Love is a deep affection for someone. But when it comes to a relationship it means much more. Teens need to understand that although it is possible for some of them to fall in love with someone they can be with till adulthood, it isn’t very likely at all, and therefore, they shouldn’t really consider every relationship a real one. In this day and age, the majority of teenagers seek enjoyment, rather than commitment. Honestly, is that not how it’s meant to be? We are all young but once. Why should we rush things and involve ourselves so rapidly into long lasting and time consuming things? We should just live and enjoy the time we spend with one another. We should focus on what love truly means. It’s not having a sweetheart; it’s having the things that make our world alright. Friends, and people who care for you and make you laugh, are your true loves. The day will come when you meet your true love and are married. Until then, just enjoy the little things.

The purpose of this article is not to make you creep away from a relationship. We’re all free to do what we want, and at some point we want a certain someone to focus most of our attention and time on. When one finds that particular someone, one should immediately go for them. Immediately, because it brings results faster and simpler. If the person isn’t interested, then you gain your result without wasting weeks or maybe even months pondering on the situation. And since you took no time in doing it, you should feel no sadness or remorse from said response. A teenager has years ahead of him to keep at it. Rejection isn’t failure if you learn from it. If you are wondering what is learned well you’ll find out as you do it. Never wonder or think of love when searching for someone. Never wonder or think of love when you are with someone. Just enjoy the time you have with them, and be ready to let go and move to another when the time comes. If a teen ever is affected emotionally by a break up, it is their own fault for allowing themselves to be.

Love is found where you would indubitably feel at home. If you have true friends, you could be anywhere, and still feel the comfort deep within. You would indubitably feel at home. A person of will is in control of their emotions. Every moment is an experience, a lesson, in life. Through them we become stronger. We can’t allow our emotions to run wild within us and prevent us from doing things we might enjoy. Like the fear of embarrassment stops a boy who wants to sing in front of his classmates. We should live each moment, and enjoy them. Instead of gulping down life, we should take sips, and savor it. Love is a great thing. It could bring you endless happiness, if you know how to control it. The results of letting it out of control, is seen in the broken hearted. But alas, love isn’t something that can’t be taught. What the meaning of love truly is, you must find out for yourself.

  1. Rachel Lauren Says:

I agree one thousand percent. Love is a word that is thrown around way to often and not thought about correctly by many teenagers.

I believe there is a difference between loving someone and being in love with someone.

This article sums it all up very well.

    Kudos Jonathan Lezama (:
