Bulls Charging To The Playoffs

The District Champion Bulls take the field

For the first time in school history the West Boca Bulls Varsity Football team are District Champions. This year the West Boca Bulls were moved to the 5A division with Wellington and Spanish River. After beating Wellington and winning the last game against Spanish River, West Boca has secured a first round home playoff game.
Coming into the season the Bulls were confident that they would beat both of these teams. Showing outstanding talent and discipline the Bulls were able to come away with victories over both teams.
“Being District Champions gave us the confidence we need to beat Dwyer for our Homecoming game in two weeks” said by left offensive guard Brendan Keane.
The Bulls defensive unit has shut down opposing teams, allowing just one touchdown in four games. While the offense has been able to move the ball and score at will. Both the offense and defensive lines have been able to control the line of scrimmage which has allowed the Bulls to play their type of power football.
Putting up 48 points on the board against Spanish River last week quickly ended District hopes for the Sharks. During the game, corner back Jerome Thomas injured his lower leg when going for a tackle. Even though Jerome was one of the Bulls key players it’s not going to stop the Bulls from going far in the playoffs. The game was cancelled in the third quarter after lighting struck which stopped the Bulls from running up the score any more then they did.
Quarterback Alex Prakas, tight end Ryan Greenwald, and running back Aspha Smart have led the Bulls on offense, while George DeMaria, Corey King, and Eric Schaefer have led the Bulls on defense, to their victories. If they continue with their strong play the Bulls should be able to make a run in the playoffs and make West Boca High School proud.
