With all the hub-bub over the new rules and regulations bombarding the school, the standard school rules about dress code still remain unchecked. Why are students unable to wear tank tops in Florida’s 90 degree weather but are able to have other “appendages” hanging out for the world to see? Most students agree that this is one rule they would like to see enforced. When asked why the dress code should be more strictly enforced, Alina Castillo, Junior, had this to say, “[It’s] because girls wear the most revealing clothes possible and nobody does anything about it. The only aspect that’s enforced right now is shoulders and that’s really the least seductive thing on the female body.”

While outside of school the short-shorts may be acceptable and the low cut tops may be a hit at parties, it is unacceptable for a learning environment. The dress code for males is also lacking, girls are not the only gender susceptible to blame. Boy’s pants have become unnaturally baggy to the point where their boxers are showing. Again, it may be fine for a rap video but not in gym glass, where you’re objected to run without having to constantly be pulling up your pants.

Basically, enough is enough; the majority of students don’t want to see girls or guys revealing their body parts. Perhaps if we all showed less skin then maybe we would be able to wear tank tops. So guys, get a belt and girls please cover yourselves.
